Motorola and CMCC Cooperate on 3G Research for China Market
BEIJING, China, February **, 2002 - Motorola (NYSE: MOT) and China Mobile Communications Corporation (CMCC), China's largest mobile phone network operator, today announced the signing of a cooperative agreement to begin a 3G business service dimensioning research project in China.
Under terms of the agreement, the two sides will jointly study possible services and their characteristics on China's future 3G networks. The research is focused on finding the most cost-effective network solutions for the China market and will study the relationship between service behaviors and the related network resource consumption. The major areas of research include 3G applications, service behavior pattern and wireless network resource consumption.
