It Is You Who Make Motorola Different

2002 IESS Employee Appreciation Week was held during July 15 to July 19 globally. Employee Appreciation Week includes a series of activities to present thanks to all IESS associates. The theme of the week is " thank you for making the difference". The development and success of IESS is closely related to the effort and contribution of each employee. It is our employees who make Motorola and IESS different.

As the largest manufacturing site of IESS, the management and Employee Service Committee (ESC) have organized elaborately plentiful and meaningful activities for 2600 employees in IESS Tianjin, China.

The curtain of the photography exhibition named " the most graceful and happiest moment" rose in cafeteria at the first day of the Employee Appreciation Week. The exhibition has collected over 300 photos of employees, their babies and families. Several photos of 2 employees' grandparents in 1920's to 1930's are the highlight in the exhibition. The most interesting part of the exhibition is to guess who is who through the photos of some employees at childhood. Looking at the photos, employees appreciated each other and share the happiness with smiles in their faces.

At the same time, the opening ceremony of Employee Appreciation Week was held in cafeteria. JT Ooi, General Manager of ESG Tianjin made a brief speech to announce the open of Employee Appreciation Week. He, on behalf of the management team in Tianjin, thanked all employees for their dedication and encourage employees to work together for a brighter future. Florence Ooi, IESS A/P Human Resources Manager, also presented honest gratitude and motivation. Robert Xiang, IESS Tianjin Human Resources Manager, read the thanks letter from Thomas Lynch, Executive Vice President & President of IESS, to all employees. At last, all members of management team bowed deeply their thanks to the employees.

The Delicious Dishes Festival followed the opening ceremony. All managers dressed with cook hat, mask and apron to ladle the dish and distribute the free beverage, pastry, salad and dry fruits. Sometimes employees are absorbed in the dishes but surprised with happiness by those special cooks when they told the voice of their managers.

ESC Tianjin has organized the activity " Broadcasting for Your Most Cherished People" to provide the opportunity for employees to manifest their thanks to the colleagues. ESC made full use of the broadcasting system in the cafeteria to play the songs and employees' thankful words and best wishes during the lunchtime. Some are with deep emotion, some with humor, and some with much encouragement. The songs from department managers manifested thanks to employees' hard work, those from employees the encouragement from each other, those from departments the support and cooperation.

The climax of Employee Appreciation Week is the " Red Enthusiasm" body-building activity at the weekend. Badminton, bowling, table tennis, billiard, swimming and bodybuilding witnessed employees' energy and enthusiasm. The management and employees took the opportunity to communicate with each other and enjoy the relaxation.

As the Employee Appreciation Week came to the end, the small gifts from headquarter in U.S has brought the special greeting and thanks to employees. JT and other managers have expressed their thanks by distributing the gifts to employees who are working in the production line.

Now we hope that all IESS Tianjin employees have enjoyed a good time in the Appreciation Week. We would like to present thanks to the management and employees for their positive participation and support, to presents thanks to ESC members for their effort and dedication to the success of Employee Appreciation Week. THANK YOU, THANK YOU FOR MAKING THE DIFFFERENCE!
