Overview of Essentials for Emerging Leader
Description
- Designed for new managers who manages individuals or lead projects. Essentials for Emerging Leaders aims to build skills in coaching for performance, to give an appreciation of the difficulty of a running a well balanced, financially stable company whilst also investing in intangible assets. It will also create self awareness on emotionally intelligent behavior.
- Through an online EQ self assessment, participants will be able to understand how their emotional and social functioning impacts their work performance and take away realistic development actions.
- Participants learn to develop their leadership capability through learning activities, group discussions, case studies, peer coaching, self-reflection, and simulation.

Essentials for Emerging Leader – Workshop Design
Overview of the Program
1. Enhance Self Awareness using Baron EQ-i® - core
Emotional Intelligence reflects how a person interacts with and applies his or her knowledge to the immediate situation. Broadly speaking, emotional intelligence addresses the emotional, personal, social, and survival dimensions of intelligence.
It is concerned with understanding oneself and others, relating to people, and adapting to and coping with the immediate surroundings to be more successful in dealing with environmental demands.
It measures the following scales:
- INTRAPERSONAL SCALES
- INTERPERSONAL SCALES
- ADAPTABILITY SCALES
- STRESS MANAGEMENT SCALES
- GENERAL MOOD
2. Essentials for Management - core
Gives participants the tools and knowledge needed in the transition from being an individual contributor to a leader of individuals. It covers the four roles of a manager: Business Planner, Process Manager, People Developer, and The Glue (relationship-builder). Participants learn through skill-building activities and real-world problems and are given a wide assortment of tools they can implement on the job. Participants create specific Action Plans that will allow them to apply what they have learned. These Action Plans are shared by the individual with his/her manager.
3. Business Simulation - core
Focusing on profitability while simultaneously managing both tangible and intangible assets is a significant challenge. In the Tango business simulation your team will run a company for five annual cycles, pursuing your business strategy in order to maximize profitability. Your team competes with others for the same customers and key personnel with the same goal in mind to be the highest valued company in your industry. Your team must match personnel and customers in different projects, recruit and attract the right people and the right customers, anticipate the competitions response, and work well together as a management team. All of this must be accomplished while you manage the companies cash flow.
