As a responsible corporate citizen, Motorola is committed to the safety of our people and the protection of the environment. Motorola initiated "ECOMOTO Takeback" in Asia Pacific area and Motorola China launched a similar program in China which is called Green Box Program.
Green Box Program is a joint-effort program launched by Motorola, China Mobile, and Nokia on Dec. 8, 2005 to take back and recycle end-of-life mobile phones, batteries and accessories.

To avoid hazardous materials spreading into our society.
To enhance environmental protection awareness among consumers.
End-of-life mobile phones, batteries, chargers and all accessories, which is completely lost all the economic value. It could be Motorola products or products from other manufactures.
This program is very simple and convenient for consumers. When a product reaches end of life, you can drop it into a take-back bin located at any of the 155 Motorola service centers in 40 cities in China. Authorized contractors will collect and transport these items to approved recycling facilities.
Our goal is to protect our environment.
Motorola responsibly designs our products in strict accordance with regulations and standards to protect human health and the environment. Electrical and electronic equipment may still contain substances that, if mismanaged, are not beneficial to the environment. In sufficient quantities and over time, these substances could harm the environment. As a responsible corporate citizen, we have the responsibility to do what we can to minimize potential negative risks. Furthermore, Motorola products contain materials that can be reused and recycled to complete the loop and reduce the pressure on resources.
At Motorola, the recycle-and-reuse process was followed well before environmental laws and regulations made it mandatory to do so and before environmental quality became a trade pre-requisite. Motorola is committed to continuous efforts to prevent environmental pollution and make all of its products "green" or environmental friendly.
Motorola has taken back over 300 mobile phones, 3500 batteries and 2600 accessories since December 2005.
Motorola is committed to being a partner on protecting our environment, safety and health.
Green Box Program is but one of the many initiatives that Motorola is undertaking to ensure that the world remains a safe place for now and for the coming generations.
